When the map first load the most recent UFO sighting report is centered on the UFO map. It will also be the first entry in the UFO sighting list. You can also scroll through summaries of the latest UFO sightings, click the row with the sighting you want to view.

I saw a UFO! How do I report it?

You can report UFO sightings directly to MUFON by clicking the

button at the top of the page or by following this link: Report a UFO sighting to MUFON.

Why do some reports mention images or videos, but there are none present?

This can happen for a number of reasons. Images and videos are submitted by the public, sometimes it's as simple as them forgetting to attach the image or video, other times the image or video may be corrupt or in a non-standard format. If a report mentions missing images or video please feel free to add a comment to the bottom of the UFO sighting detail and we will attempt to find it.

What can I search for?

You can search for virtually anything. Locations, dates, keywords, text, sighting IDs. Just put what you are looking for in the search box and our intuitive search should be able to find what you are looking for.

NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY PROVIDES LISTING OF UFO DOCUMENTS

In response to numerous inquiries regarding the subject of Unidentified Flying Objects, the NSA has assembled a list of documents located in its files. Many of these documents were provided as a result of a 1980 litigation action brought about by Citizens Against Unidentified Flying Objects Secrecy against the Agency. The list may be found here.



UFO Sightings Map
This map shows reports of UFO sightings in the United States, with historic UFO sightings symbolized in yellow, and featured in the Historical Reports widget. The map is part of a larger analysis on the NUFORC UFO Sightings dataset published on Kaggle. 
 
 
The dataset contains over 80,000 records of UFO sightings over the past century (between 1910 and 2014), and the data displayed lapses from year to year. You can control which year's data is displayed using the Time Widget at the bottom of the map.

In this map, you can drive an investigation on reported UFO shapes of the top 10 states with the most UFO sightings using the Reported Shapes widget, and try to spot any geographic trends on the shapes of the reported UFOs.

UFO Sightings Map

This map is based on data from the National UFO Reporting Center. It includes over 90,000 reports of UFO sightings dating as far back as 1905.

Each circle on the map corresponds to a reported UFO, with the size representing the number of UFO reports received.

For any UFO reported by at least two people, details of all sightings are available by clicking on the circle. More circles become clickable as you zoom in closer.

Thanks to NUFORC for making their UFO report database available. And thanks to the Mutual UFO Network for allowing me to reproduce images and videos from their website.

GeoMaps - Library and Archives Canada
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) preserves and makes accessible the documentary heritage of Canada. It also serves as the continuing memory of the Government of Canada and its institutions. This heritage includes publications, archival records, sound and audio-visual materials, photographs, artworks, and electronic documents.


Christian Pearson compiled data from the National UFO reporting center, and created a map which shows all registered UFO sightings between 1933 and 2015. The visualization has been created in cartoDB.

The story begins in 1933 with the first UFO sightings being spotted over California and Nebraska in the US, the UK and France in Europe, and locations in Japan and Australia. When you watch the map closely, you’ll notice that the number of sightings really increases around the 1950s and 1960s. It’s a Cold War times. Where countries tested a lot of weapons and aircrafts.

Cartographically speaking the map is not the most brilliant data visualisation ever but it definitely shows that cartDB gives some cool possibilities.

NUFORC WEBSITE UPDATED ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 04, 2020

The NUFORC website has been updated, as of the current date, with the posting of approximately 178 new and updated reports.  Given that this new “crop” of reports has been read in a very cursory manner, this week, we encourage visitors to our website to exercise caution as to what they accept as being true and accurate data.  If you find errors in the database, please send a note to director@ufocenter.com , with a description of the suspected error, and we will follow up on the issue at our earliest convenience.

RADIO APPEARANCES

Peter Davenport is scheduled to make his traditional appearance on the radio program, Coast to Coast AM, hosted by Mr. George Noory, today, Friday, September 04th, 2020, beginning at approximately 10:10 p.m. (Pacific).  Peter will discuss a few of the reports that are posted to our database.

Peter is also scheduled to appear on Spaced Out Radio, hosted by Mr. Michael W. Hall, aka “The Paranormal Attorney,” on Sunday night, September 06th, 2020, beginning at approximately 9:05 p.m. (Pacific).  Peter will discuss a number of recent cases, and other topics, as well.

We have updated both our homepage, and database of eyewitness reports, as of today’s date, August 27th,  with the posting of approximately 185 new reports, received by our Center since the afternoon of Thursday, August 20th. 

Given that we are under time pressure to get the reports to our webmaster, we will not include a list of either featured cases, or illustrations, with this posting, but will attempt to include that material in another posting, perhaps during the upcoming weekend.

Peter Davenport, Director of NUFORC, is scheduled to make his weekly appearance on the Coast to Coast AM radio program, hosted by Mr. George Noory, this evening, Thursday, August 27th, 2020, at approximately 10:10 p.m. (Pacific).  Peter will discuss several recent eyewitness reports during his appearance.  

Peter is also scheduled to make what has become a weekly appearance on Spaced out Radio/Sunday, hosted by Mr. Michael W. Hall, aka “The Paranormal Attorney,” this Sunday night, August 30, 2020.  Peter typically appears for 25 minutes, beginning at 9:05 p.m. (Pacific), and discusses recent cases reported to NUFORC.

NUFORC HOMEPAGE UPDATED ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2020

We have updated both our homepage, as well as the database of witness sighting reports, as of this date.  We have posted 441 new written reports, submitted to our Center via our Online Report Form since the afternoon of August 6th, together with 35 older reports which have been revised over the past two weeks. 

For this update, we have strived to proof-read all the reports more carefully than we believe we have performed that process for the past several updates.  However, there is always the possibility that we have overlooked a defective or misleading report, so, as we always do, we caution visitors to our site to be careful in what they accept at face value.

We highlight below two eyewitness reports that have captured our attention, for one of which we have received what we believe to be high-quality video:

·         Lakeview, Ohio, Saturday, July 18, 2020, @ 11:15 p.m. (Eastern):  A husband and wife, booth experienced sky watchers, were outdoors, in order to view, and photograph, the “Neowise” comet, when the husband observed a very bright light moving across the nighttime sky, and approaching their location from the west.  He  manages to capture some very high-quality, and dramatic, footage of the peculiar object. ·         Burnet, Texas, Saturday, August 15, 2020, @ 00:45 a.m. (Central):  Two adult males, both experienced amateur astronomers, observe, and photograph through their telescopes, a strange looking object, exhibiting four very bright, white, strobing lights radiating from its ventral surface (see picture at right).  The object remains visible, and motionless for 3-4 hours.  Witness Report 1   Witness Report 2

·         Conway, South Carolina, Wednesday, August 18, 2020, @ 00:30 a.m. (Eastern):  A retired senior law enforcement official, while out sky-watching, observes a tiny, white colored, strobing light fly overhead from NNE to SSW. The object is joined by a second similar object, and then two more, for a total of four objects.  Because of the strobing, and because of the direction the objects were traveling, the witness doubted whether they could have been ”Starlink” satellites.  Witness Report

We hope to be able to post several more good illustrations in the near future, but to do so is going to require a bit more time than we have available today for sorting through a large number of items, in order to select good, and convincing bits of evidence..

Hall, aka the “Paranormal Attorney,” at 9:05 p.m. (Pacific), on Sunday night, August 23rd, 2020.  Peter will discuss some of the latest, and more well documented, cases, submitted to NUFORC over recent weeks.

All the UFO videos to make you believe we’re not alone

UFO videos are definitely an odd middle ground in terms of “proof” with skeptics. The videos show something off, but they aren’t concrete enough to impress people. There are a lot of great UFO videos out there to check out. From the recently released Pentagon videos to old Phoenix Lights footage, chances are you’ve seen something odd appear on your video feed over the years.

Well, we have four more UFO videos for you to check out and decide if you really believe that something is going on. Are they aliens? Are they advanced planes? Are they weather balloons or flares? We may never know, but these UFO videos will definitely leave you wondering if we’re truly alone in the universe.


Stephenville UFO Sightings

In 2008, the town of Stephenville, Texas was plagued by UFO sightings. While some of those could be explained away as military aircraft training nearby, as CNN reported, others are certain that some of these sightings have to do with actual UFOs in the area. After all, it can’t all be military training.

Either way, it had the town of Stephenville in an uproar. Even if it was just training exercises from the military, the terror was extremely real for the members of the town. So maybe, just maybe, give a head’s up next time?


Aguadilla Airport Incident — Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

In 2013, a UFO was seen flying at a low altitude across the runway of the Rafael Hernandez Airport. The object did not give any warning signals and was odd enough that it delayed a commercial flight waiting for takeoff. No one really quite knew what to make of the craft, which was moving at speeds close to 100mph at tree-top altitude.


Falkirk, Scotland

Through the 1990s, videos of UFOs emerged over this small area of Scotland. Beginning in 1992 and ending in 1997, civilians claimed to see UFOs in small villages like Falkirk near Fife. One politician, after seeing the UFO, wrote to former Prime Minister Tony Blair about it. The Ministry for Defense didn’t find anything, and many villagers believe it was a hoax to drive tourism.

It’s definitely odd that the UFOs appeared over the same small area in Scotland for a number of years. Maybe the people of Falkirk could go to Manitoba? We guess that they would feel their pain.


Manitoba, Canada 

In Oct. 2015, CTV News did a report on the odd relationship between Manitoba and UFOs. For hundreds of years, there have been some very well documented cases of UFOs over the Canadian province. In fact, one sight dates back to 1792, which is pretty crazy. And it looks like these sightings haven’t stopped. Cut in with the report are various clips of UFO videos taken by residents.

Over 200 years of documented UFO sightings? It’s definitely one of the longest running cases there being something odd in the sky going on. Maybe the truth is out there, but you need to go to Canada first.
